Golf carts follow the same driving rules as any other vehicle on Sullivan’s Island or IOP. This means obeying all traffic laws, including speed limits, stop signs, and right-of-way rules. Drivers must be responsible, stay aware of their surroundings, and prioritize safety—just like they would in a car. How fast do these golf carts go?

Please note: Golf carts are not permitted on roads with a speed limit over 35 mph. For your safety, they must remain within the Sullivan’s Island and Isle of Palms areas. Moreover, you need to stay off of IOP Connector (Isle of Pale Bridge), and the SI Causeway (Sullivan’s Island Bridge). They can however cross over the Breach Inlet Bridge, which connects SI and IOP.
